Descriptive Notation: Mate à la Pin - Saint Petersburg 1914

Wolverhampton Chess Club

This sample game is a game of Master Class at the very highest level. It will be extremely difficult for you to understand the full purpose of the all of the moves. However, this is a good way to learn notation, to see a game played out and appreciate how the moves are written down. Even though you may not understand why all of the moves have been made, there are still elements of the game-play which you should appreciate and enjoy.

Once again I have made a 'swf' for you to play through the moves - this time with the descriptive notation. Click here to open this swf in a new page.
